SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Rev. Kenneth C. Welch Jr., Ph.D.
Dr. Ken Welch’s chief motivation is a passionate pursuit of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A gifted communicator of biblical truth, Dr. Welch seeks to help individuals apply the Word of God as the standard and guide for flourishing in daily life. Dr. Welch has over 38 years of spiritual and practical leadership experience, including as CEO of his own Staffing Solutions Business.
For more than 32 years, Dr. Ken and his wife, Sonja Welch, have served churches and ministries in both senior and associate pastor roles. Ken augmented his practical and spiritual experience with complementary academic credentials, earning an accredited Master’s in Business Administration, a second Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies, a Ph.D. in Leadership, and is currently pursuing an MDiv.
Additionally, as an Adjunct Professor of Business, Dr. Welch has taught business and leadership development courses at both Rutgers Business School and the Martin Tuchman School of Management at NJIT for the past 14 years. Currently, Dr. Welch teaches Leadership Development, Strategic Management, and the MBA Capstone courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Welch’s passion for education and leadership development led him to recognize and answer the call as Principal of the Dawn Treader Christian School (DTCS). DTCS is a K-8 school serving the families of Paterson, NJ, partnering with parents in the academic and spiritual development of their children. Dr. Welch currently serves as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Pillar College with campuses in Newark and Paterson, New Jersey.
Due to the teaching and pastoral nature of God’s gifting in his life, Dr. Welch has also been called to speak throughout the region and internationally, training and equipping believers and pastors to fulfill God’s purposes for their lives. At present, Dr. Welch serves as the executive pastor of a recent church plant in Linden, NJ, and is a regional instructor for Redeemer City-To-City, teaching community engagement strategies for New Jersey churches.
When he is not in the office, a church, or a classroom, Dr. Ken Welch’s favorite activity is spending time with Sonja, his wife of over 41 years, and their four adult sons.
