Ebenezer
"Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us." — 1 Samuel 7:12 KJV
Good Morning Agape Family — Today we stop to set up a stone. Not because we are stuck in the past, but because we need a memorial for the future. 31 years of help. 31 years of God showing up in Plainfield. Every rent paid, every soul saved, every baby dedicated, every storm survived — help came. Today we say EBENEZER.
1. HITHERTO — ad henah - up to this point, this far. Look how far! From living room to sanctuary, from few to family, from seed to shade tree. Hitherto means we did not come this far to only come this far. This stone marks progress, not pause.
2. HATH HELPED — azar - to surround, to aid, to succor. He didn't just watch, He helped. When you had no musicians, He helped. When you had no money, He helped. AZAR means He surrounded you on all sides. You were never alone for 31 years.
3. EBENEZER — eben ezer - stone of help. We name this year EBENEZER. This anniversary is not just a party, it is a pile of stones for your children to ask, 'What mean these stones?' And you will answer, 'God helped us here.'
4. THE LORD — Yehovah - the covenant Keeper Not man. Not methods. YEHOVAH helped us. The One who makes covenant with a house and keeps it for generations. The same Lord who helped year 1 is here for year 31.
Prophetic Word For You Today
The Lord says: Agape, pick up your Ebenezer stone. I want you to remember on purpose. The enemy wants you to remember what hurt you, I want you to remember how I helped you. I helped you when the crowd left. I helped you when the offering was low. I helped you when the pastor wanted to quit. And because I helped you hitherto, I will help you henceforth. Your memorial today becomes your guarantee for tomorrow. HELP IS STILL COMING.
Today’s Declaration
Say this out loud three times: Hitherto hath the Lord helped us! We set up our Ebenezer — God helped us for 31 years, and He will help us for 31 more!
I love you, I'm praying for you.
